In order to ensure the responsible recycling of end-of-life electronics, it is important that Processors who want access to material collected through SWEEP meet the required Health and Safety and Environmental Standards established by harmonized electronic waste programs in Canada.  SWEEP will allocate program material to the recyclers who can provide high levels of service related to environmental impact and cost.

The SWEEP Board of Directors has now approved the Recycler Qualification Program (2010) for use in auditing and assessing new recyclers and/or processes, as well as for the basis of conducting the 3 year re-assessments of existing recyclers.
